... the way of printing
The process is made up of two elements, Grease & water. Ink will eventually be applied onto a flat surface and this is so called a Nonimage another word for blank areas, where the ink is filled up in (moisture). After this technique is applied, the paper will be pressed by a special instrument (fine art printmaking) or else it will be done by using a rubber cylinder (commercial printmaking).
The differences between Commercial Print & Fine Art Printing
The difference between these two printing methods are different in the technique they individually use. Commercial & Fine art printing use their own method to create an original print, they have difference in ink, paper & materials. Fine Art printing (press) involved blocks of limestone, on it there would be something drawn, normally they used something called a 'tusche' and this is a pigment that is made up of liquid form, it is then moistened & inked for the printing process. In the process the printing is a pressing method using pressure, and a single block of limestone can multiply number of copies from just one pigment, but when it comes to the Fine Art printmaking there are limited copies that are pulled out and signed before.
Commercial printing is the alternate way of using lithography. Fine art printing use Limestone & pressing, thus commercial are more sophisticated and in advance for more mass production because of the instruments being used. Rubber cylinder, will have the image inked onto it from default before making contact with the sheet of paper, although because of it's flexibility and durability this cylinder can print on diverse materials such as : Wood, leather, canvas sheets etc.. This commercial printing technique was used by it's purpose, advertisement production.
